Biography
Ricky Johnson is charismatic, sharp, self-aware, and far more relaxed than Marcus when David arrives at his apartment. Comfortable with his lifestyle and unwilling to perform innocence for anyone, Ricky openly admits he was caught with a significant amount of contraband. What bothers him is not the arrest itself, but the tens of thousands of dollars he says vanished while he was in police custody.
Ricky’s humor and confidence initially make the conversation feel lighter, but his story quickly reinforces everything Marcus told David. He describes officers who know exactly who has money, who already has charges, and who the public is unlikely to believe. His encounter with Hampton becomes especially important when Ricky reveals that the captain appeared to know about the missing money before dismissing it as a lesson Ricky deserved to learn.
